Search Intent Filter overview

Keyword Search Intent allows for the ability to create filters for a variety of keyword data based on a specific pattern, so as to view the performance of the varying keyword segments. 



Background & Requirements for Search Intent

In order to use Search Intent filters, they must first be created. Filters are independent of each other, which means if one filter is updated it does not update any other filter reciprocally. 


Keyword Search Intent  

Search Intent filters can be configured and are available in multiple platform features (Rank Intelligence is seen in the example below). The most commonly setup Search Intent patterns are Brand and Non-Brand. Search intent can be used for any keyword matching filters though.


            

How to Create and Edit Search Intent patterns  

1. Select the edit (pencil) icon for Search Intent to display the Search Intent popup

2. Select the Create New button to create a new pattern or the edit button to review and edit an existing pattern.



3. Enter a name for the Search intent filter
4. Select the pattern match type and enter in a pattern. To add additional filters rules, Select Add Filter and repeat the process.
5. Once all patterns for this Search Intent filter have been entered, select the Submit button.

How to Use Search Intent Filters

After Search Intent Filters have been created, they will be available for use across multiple platform features when selecting the Search Intent filter. Simply select the corresponding Search Intent filter and the Apply filter button to view corresponding data for that Search Intent filter.




Search Intent Filtering Key
Is: Defined Keyword is filtered specifically for returned results
Isnt: Defined Keyword is excluded from returned results
Contains: Defined Keyword pattern is contained within the Keyword string
Does not contain: Defined Keyword pattern is NOT contained within the Keyword string
Starts with: The Keyword string starts with pattern identified
Ends with: The Keyword string ends with the pattern identified
RegExp: Filtered results to follow RegExp entered
RegExp Not Match: Filtered results to not follow RegExp pattern entered

Note: To filter for 2 or more words we recommend using the AND connector to include variations correctly. This way, name variations will be taken into account if they meet any of the conditions.
