Google Ads Integration

Google Ads Integration

In order to view your Google paid ads data compared next to your organic performance data in the PPC vs Organic feature, there are just a few simple steps. Detailed report creation steps are outlined below.

Background & Requirements

To integrate your Google Ads account with seoClarity you will need to have an Ads campaign set up in your profile and provide access to the Ads account via OAuth. Admin access to seoClarity is required to setup this integration.

Provide Google Ads Account Access

1. Navigate to the Integration tab on the Settings page.

2. Select the Google Ads integration option found in the Other integration section.

Note: During the authentication process, you will be asked to grant permission to LocalClarity to access your Ads account. This is correct and intended. LocalClarity is another product under the same company as seoClarity. All your data is safe and held confidential under the same terms of services (subscription agreement) If you prefer, you can choose the separate flat file transfer instead of this OAuth. See instructions here.

3. Select the Sign in with Google button to begin integrating a Google Ads account.

4.  Once logged into the Google Ads account, select Continue to allow access to Google Ads.

5. Once Google Ads access is granted, a side panel will appear to select the correct Google Ads Account to be used in the integration. Once the account has been chosen from the dropdown, select the Save button to complete the integration process. You can change the account option at any time. However, please note that selecting a different account determines which campaign's data is pulled through the API. If accounts are switched, the data collection for the previous account will stop.

PPC vs Organic Report

Once the Google Ads account has been integrated, data will begin populating in the PPC vs Organic feature within 24-48 hours. This will retrieve Google Ads campaign data based on "search" channel and the metrics noted below, each day for the previous day going forward.

Google Ads Data Utilization
Search Term (Targeting) or Search Keyword (Level of Detail)
Clicks (Performance)
Impressions (Performance) >=1
      - Filtering out keywords with 0 impressions removes keywords that are no longer bid on (pictured below). Select the Impressions column header to apply this filter.
Avg. CPC (Performance)
Cost (Performance)
Conversions (Conversions)
Conv. value (Conversions)

Setting up Google Ads integration with seoClarity can be essential to your SEO and PPC efforts to allow you the ability to view and analyze your organic data next to your paid data at the keyword level. Being able to view these 2 sets of data side-by-side will allow you to optimize your paid search efforts with ease. Because of this, keywords tracked in the PPC report could be updated during the integration to allow comparisons to organic search in the GSC data.
