Defend, Improve & Grow: Finding Your Keyword Strategy with Content Gaps
Content Gaps analyzes your keyword positions versus your top competitors in the SERPs (or any competitors you choose) and provides you with three buckets of keywords to build your content strategy:
- Defend: keywords for which you already rank in high positions. You need to defend these against encroachment by competitors and carefully monitor for any that might be losing rank.
- Improve: keywords for which you rank in search but not in positions that will bring traffic. You want to improve content and authority signals for the content associated with these keywords to move them up to rank positions where they will bring you traffic.
- Grow: keywords for which your competitors rank but you don't. You should think about creating new pages and content to rank for these keywords where they are relevant to your business. These are opportunities to take new ground.
