Analytics integration is of critical importance to our clients to be able to track, report and analyze the performance of their efforts.
seoClarity collects a tremendous amount of data from a variety of different data sources - analytics from various analytics platforms, like Google Search Console, Links data from various providers and much, much more. There are multiple complex steps involved in the retrieval of the data, storage of the data and finally aggregation, reporting and analysis on top of it.

Challenge with Data Aggregation on the Web
Unfortunately, things on the Internet are not perfect and with analytics being pulled from multiple sources, in multiple ways, there are places the process can break down. In the past, our team along with some clients have noticed data missing and wondered what may have gone wrong - whether it be a problem with proper integration or authentication, files not being delivered to our systems via email or FTP, or due to API or data connector end points becoming unavailable.
Regardless of the cause, any breakage in the process is a major cause of frustration for everyone. Clients see missing data in various reports and then have the Client Success Team undertake a lengthy research process to try and figure out where the process broke down. After completing that step, they then figure out how to fix the root cause to get the systems working again.
Data Integration Connection Notices
Our Development Team has taken this into consideration and has put in the effort to minimize the time spent locating and fixing these issues. While we work on making each step of every process more resilient, sometimes things are not under our control and it is exactly for that reason that the Notification System was built.
We have built out a new notification system that will alert you when there are any issues with your analytics. The objective was to provide visibility to our clients directly into each step of the data aggregation, processing, and analysis so that when something broke, the client and the Client Success team would know immediately where it broke down so the time could be better spent in fixing the issue. Currently, the new notification system provides visibility into the process for data retrieval from the following analytic platforms:
- Google Analytics
- Google Search Console
- Adobe Omniture
- IBM Coremetrics
- In-house analytic systems
Starting initially with the process of Analytics retrieval and aggregation, the notification system will automatically and immediately notify clients of any issues encountered at any step of the process.
- There is a triangle icon at the top of your page that calls out if there are any issues. If there are no analytics issues, the circle will be grey and display a 0.
- When issues are found, the circle will appear red and display the number of issues that have been found. When there are errors found, click on the red circle. This will trigger a menu to pop up on the right side of the screen. In this display, you are able to see the source of the error, the date the error was found, the message received from the analytics platform, and most importantly, a link to the steps you can take to help resolve it.
Domain Notification System Summary
Tracking, reporting and analyzing your SEO efforts would be impossible without analytics being constantly pulled into the platform but sometimes that happens. Our team and some of our clients have noticed that something breaks and the connection is lost between the time the data is sent from a source to the time it reaches the seoClarity platform. As we work on strengthening the connection between all of the analytic sources and the seoClarity platform, we now have a new Notification System.
Currently, these notifications are for Site Analytics, Search Analytics, Bot Clarity and Google Ads OAuth integration.
