To begin viewing data in Topic Explorer, simply search for a keyword to view related metrics. Topic Explorer uses multiple data sources including: Research Grid and clickstream data. Research Grid contains 300+ million keywords and is seoClarity’s proprietary dataset for competitive research including Top 100 rankings, search volume, CPC and our own calculation of Search intent. This dataset is curated and continuously maintained by our editorial team. The clickstream dataset contains 28+ billion keywords and growing and is a proprietary dataset consisting of the actual searches conducted by users across 170+ countries. It is GDPR compliant (no Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data) and collected from all devices, with search volume estimates generated by our statistical models.

Total Search Volume: The total search volume from Google's Keyword Planner for all the keywords in each industry group.
Keyword Patterns Table
Shows common patterns of keyword phrases from the relevant keywords found. An underscore on either side of the phrase indicates other word or words appear before or after the phrase. For example, "north face_" could represent "north face backpack" or "north face borealis."
Pattern: The common patterns found relevant to the searched-for keyword.
Variations: The number of variations found for that pattern. Clicking the number opens a window listing all the variations.
Total Search Volume: The sum of average search volume for all the variations for this pattern.
Avg CPC: The average cost-per-click for all the keyword variations in each patter group.

Avg Search Volume: Allows for filtering of the related keywords search volume based on the criteria: equals, greater than, less than, or between.
Keyword Difficulty: Allows for filtering of estimates how challenging it would be to rank for a specific keyword. It’s calculated using our Research Grid data and considers factors like Topical Page Authority, the visibility of ranking pages, keyword and page intent, and other key SEO signals. This score reflects how strong existing ranking pages are and how closely they align with the keyword topic.
User Intent: Allows for filtering of the keyword intent
based on the 4 different types: Informational, Local, Navigational, and
Transactional.
SERP Features: Allows for filtering of the related keywords based on results that include a specific universal result including: Answer Box, Local Map Listing, People Also Ask, and PPC.
YOY % Change: Allows you to filter keywords based on their year-over-year performance trends. This metric shows the percentage change in search volume compared to the same time period in the previous year.
Peak Month: Allows you to filter keywords based on the month they receive the highest search volume. This helps identify seasonal trends and understand when interest in a keyword typically peaks during the year.
Topic: Filters the keyword topic based on the criteria:
is, isn't, contains, does not contain, starts with, ends with, or a
Regex pattern.
True Demand: Allows you to filter keywords based on their estimated true search volume. It factors in how often a keyword is observed, how frequently it’s searched, the type of device used, and the first and last time the keyword was seen — giving a more accurate picture of real search demand.
Tracked Status: Filters results based on untracked and tracked keywords, including keyword tags.
Keyword Lists: This is available after performing
any type of search in the Research Grid. This allows for the creation of

How to Create Keyword Lists
Selecting the edit icon provides the ability to:
Actions: To delete a list select the checkbox next to the corresponding list and use the actions menu dropdown option.
Create New List: Type in a name to create a new list.
List: Displays the name of created lists, select this to review keywords in this list.
Count: Displays the number of keywords in the list.
Keyword Tag: Allows you to filter keywords based on assigned keyword tags. You can easily assign or remove tags to organize keywords into custom categories for better tracking, analysis, and management.
Hide Variations: Allows you to filter results by grouping keyword variations.
Industries: Allows for filtering of related keywords based on specific industry.
Word Count: Allows for filtering of the number of words
found in related keywords based on the criteria: equals, greater than,
less than, or between.
Intent Similarity: Allows filtering by keywords above a certain percentage of Intent Similarity, from 20% to 100%.
Search Intent: Allows for nested filtering of keywords based on the criteria: is, isn't, contains, does not contain, starts with, ends with, or a Regex pattern using AND OR statements.
Keyword Patterns: Allows for filtering of keyword patterns that are based on the searched keyword.
Topics Filter
Displays the top words from the related keywords found, sorted by search volume (default) or count.
Count: Displays the number of times each word is found in the related keywords.
