Why is the ?srsltid= parameter showing up in the URLs?

The ?srsltid=parameter is being added by Google Merchant Center's auto-tagging feature. When this feature is enabled, it automatically appends tracking parameters like ?srsltid= to URLs in organic shopping results. This helps Google track and measure conversions, such as purchases or sign-ups, from clicks on your free listings or local listings. Auto-tagging makes it easier to analyze how users interact with your listings and assess the performance of your campaigns.

To remove the?srsltid= parameter from your URLs, you will need to turn off the auto-tagging feature in Google Merchant Center. Here's how you can do it:
  1. Log into your Google Merchant Center account.
  2. Click on the Settings & tools icon (gear icon).
  3. Select Conversion settings.
  4. Toggle off Auto-tagging.
This will stop Google Merchant Center from automatically adding the ?srsltid= parameter to your URLs in organic search results.
Additionally, make sure that canonical tags are implemented on your website. This ensures that search engines understand which version of the URL is the main one and helps avoid potential issues with duplicate content.
