Link Optimizer (enabled feature)

Link Optimizer enables the dynamic replacement of links in any web page. It can be used to replace or update links in the HTML of the page for a given location.

Background & Requirements

Once this feature is enabled for an account, specific Javascript code is provided and will need to be installed on each site instance (including both a QA and live environment). The Javascript code can be installed inside the HTML page itself and triggered by a call or it can be installed as a separate page and is called from the HTML page by providing the path in the script tag. Once the JS is installed, admin access is required to publish changes or updates to a webpage. 

  1. Implement critical fixes for on page content 
  2. Deploy new links for pages
  3. Enable link testing to validate decision making 



Summary
Source URLs: Displays the number of pages that have been specified for updates in link optimizer.
Links: Displays the number of links that have published updates. 
QA Published: Displays the number of pages that have published updates in the QA environment. 
Live Published: Displays the number of pages that have published updates in the live environment. 

How To Upload Links to Link Optimizer
Select the Upload button to select a file with URLs to be added to Link Optimizer.


Table column filters
Source / Destination URLs: Enter a URL to view results for just those pages.
Anchor Text: Enter the anchor text for a link to view results for just pages with that anchor text.
Avg Pos: Enter a numerical value to view results for just pages with that average position.
Publication status: Select a publication status from the dropdown and select the Filter button to view results with that status.

Table actions      
Select the checkbox of any rows and the corresponding action button noted below to execute the function for those URLs:
Publish QA: Select this button to publish updates to the QA URL. 
Unpublish QA: Select this button to remove any published updates to the QA URL. 
Publish Live: Select this button to publish updates to the live URL. 
Unpublish Live: Select this button to remove any published updates to the live URL. 
Delete: Select this button to remove the URL and any published updates from Link Optimizer. 

Table columns
Source/Destination: Displays the URL for both the QA and live site.
Anchor: Displays the count of optimization changes made on that URL.
Avg Pos: Displays the average position for the source or destination URL.
Status: Displays the current status of the URL based on it's place in publication: Live, QA, or Unpublished.
