Bing Webmaster Tools Integration Overview

The objective of this integration is to authenticate Bing Webmaster Tools within seoClarity. 


Background & Requirements for Bing Webmaster Tools Integration

In order to complete this integration, you will need to be logged into the seoClarity account that is being integrated and have admin permissions to access the domain's Settings. In another browser tab, you will need to be logged into the corresponding Bing Webmaster Tools account and have the ability to generate an API key. 


Generate A Bing Webmaster Tools API Key 

1. Navigate to Bing Webmaster Tools profile for the domain to be integrated and select the settings (gear icon) option in the top right corner. Once the settings side panel is open, select the API Access option.

2. On the API Access menu, select the API Key option.

3. On the API Key menu, select the Generate API Key button.



4. Once the Bing Webmaster Tools API Key is generated, select the Copy button.

5. Navigate to the Settings page in seoClarity for the domain to be integrated via the link on the dropdown menu of the cog icon in the top right corner. Once on the Settings page, select the Integrations setting in the left navigation menu and select the Add Integration for Bing Webmaster.

6. Paste the Bing Webmaster API Key (from Step 4) into the API Key input and select the Save button. 


7. Once the API Key is saved, a success message will appear confirming the input. Select the Add Profiles to Track button.


8. Select the checkbox for corresponding domain profile(s) to integrate their data into the seoClarity platform.


9. Once the Bing Webmaster Tools profiles are selected, the integration will be complete and the profiles will be present. Data will begin flowing into the platform within 24 hours and can be seen in the Bing Search Analytics feature. Additional BWT profiles can be added in the same manner post integration. Where multiple Bing Webmaster Tools profiles are integrated, the Star icon can be selected to set a profile as the default view in the Bing Search Analytics feature. 

 

How To Remove A Bing Webmaster Tools Profile

After the Bing Webmaster Tools profile is integrated, profiles can be removed in this same integration window.  Click the trash can icon to remove. 


Bing Webmaster Tools API Limitations

  1. Bing Webmaster Tools has no way of retrieving data by day (or aggregating by month) as only weekly data is provided. 
  2. Bing Webmaster Tools data is available for keywords or pages, but not keyword and page.
  3. Bing Webmaster Tools data is not available for dimensions like Country location or Device.
