AIOs vs Products Feature for eCommerce Sites (WORKFLOW)

In early August 2025 we discovered a trend that showed up for nearly all of our ecommerce clients: for the last several months Google has been ramping up AIOs for their keywords, and most significantly in 4 times as many transactional keywords, as we saw earlier in the year.

At the same time, for these same domains we're seeing a stagnation or even slow decline in the occurrence of the Products feature (the free carousel of products largely drawn from Google's Merchant Center and powered by product feeds from merchants).
